"the weather stations" are five Campbell Scientific weatherstations from the project EarthShape.
Four of them are located and set up in Chile, one per main EarthShape research site, and the fifth is located in Todd Ehlers' backyard, for test purposes.
More info about the project Earthshape may be found on the webpage of EarthShape. Also on the webpage there are graphs of the current data updated once a day. The data is not yet published, but this will be completed soon (in the course of 2017 most likely).
Each station has the same set of sensors, which are:
- Radiation sensor CS300 (Pyranometer), Manufacturer: Apogee Instruments
- Ultrasonic Anemometer WindSonic4 2D, Manufacturer: Gill
- Soil water content reflectometer CS655 DS
- Tipping Bucket Rain gauge ARG 100
- Temperature and Relative Humidity Probe HC2S3
- Barometric pressure sensor CS 100
To use the data please contact Dr. Kirstin Übernickel (EarthShape) project manager. You will need the following set of information from her:
- A metadata file with all information about the sensors and the setup of the stations
- the data itself (on the esd group server)
- manuals ( compiled from K. Übernickel or you download from the web as needed)
- supporting fotos / sketches / videos of the stations and surroundings (compiled by K. Übernickel)
- history files per station with notes about maintenance activity (erroneous measurements) etc.
